Biola – Steve Rundle, The Emerging Role of Business in Missions
SUMMARY: Businesses of all sizes are being forced to think globally in terms of their competitors, their customers, their production processes and supply chains. This is creating new opportunities for Christian business people to advance the cause of Christ around the world. This session will consider how this trend fits within the broader missions movement, the different business models being used, and some of the practical challenges related to using business as a vehicle for cross-cultural missions
BIO: Dr. Steve Rundle is professor of economics and international business at Biola University. His publications include two books – Great Commission.
Companies: The Emerging Role of Business in Missions (2nd edition, Intervarsity Press, 2011) and Economic Justice in a Flat.
World: Christian Perspectives on Globalization (Paternoster Press, 2010) Dr. Rundle also assists, consults or has co-founded several organizations that aim to see faith-inspired businesses prosper in the developing world.
